Announce your Research
at the Gestalt Review Website

Dear Gestalt Researchers,
As many of you know, there is a coordinated effort underway by Gestaltists to generate and publish research. For example, members of AAGT are supporting an initiative to create and edit a handbook. This emphasis on research is partially a response to the "evidence based" climate in the US, spurred by on by managed care and insurance companies. I think that we all understand that in order to compete effectively with other therapies we need to validate experimentally what we already know; that Gestalt therapy is a highly effective method of change.

Our focus on research comes at an opportune time in that an increasing number of Gestaltists around the world are doing theses and dissertations. However, in order to conduct an examination, it is essential that they have access to previous work done in their area of specialization. Although there have been attempts at creating lists of articles and studies, they have not focused specifically on the researcher.

We would like to do our part in supporting research by creating an abstract form in which individuals can list their findings and have easy access to the work of others. Thanks to the hard work of Ansel Woldt, Todd Burley and Cynthia Cook, our form is now on our website. To locate the site, log into www.gestaltreview.com and look for "Gestalt Research" on the home page. Download and complete the research form and email it to office@gestaltreview.com. We will then post it on the website. Please pass the news on to others and please list your research.

Finally, we would like to post announcements on the website as well. The announcements should be short and include an email address or website that people could visit for more information. These announcements can also be sent to office@gestaltreview.com.
